My Journey Through Turner School of Construction Management: What I Learned and What’s Next

As a small business owner in the Engineering & Construction industry, I had always known the value of formal education in my field. When I heard about Turner School of  Construction Management, I knew this was my opportunity to refine my skills and take my company to the next level. Here’s what my experience was like: The Turner School offers a comprehensive 8-course curriculum that covers everything from project management to construction finance. The interactive classes and different speakers in each class kept me engaged.

One of the biggest challenges I faced was learning the complexities of construction finance. But thanks to Turner’s hands-on approach, I was able to grasp budgeting and cost management, which is a game changer for my business to grow and take on larger projects.
What started as a desire to sharpen my skills turned into a deep understanding of the industry’s best practices. I’m now more confident about managing large projects and securing new contracts. I appreciated the opportunity to learn alongside other like-minded entrepreneurs and contractors.

My advice to anyone considering Turner School of Construction Management is to go in with an open mind. You will learn a lot, and sometimes it can feel overwhelming showing up twice a week, but the knowledge and connections you gain will pay off in the long run. My top tip: is stay connected with your classmates as they are in the same industry and there might be some synergy to conduct business. Also stay connected with Turner associates and utilize the resources and contacts they have provided.
